Rainforest, Reefs & Mangroves
ODU students will collaborate with ProBelize and our community hosts for a short term engaged learning program.  The program will primarily focus on contemporary political and cultural issues as well as rainforest ecosystems with an optional tour through mangrove and reef ecosystems.

Program Overview
  • 7 days rainforest program in San Ignacio
  • 3 days reef and mangrove program along the coast or islands
  • Full room and board in group living accommodations
  • All onsite domestic transportation upon arrival in Belize
  • Roundtable discussions and cultural presentations
  • Community project planning, set up, execution and follow up
  • Project donation and material project purchase for the community
  • Cultural and learning activities
  • Pre-trip organizational discussions and program materials
  • Extensive staff support throughout all phases of the program
  • 24-hour emergency access to support staff and offices
  • Health and travel insurance for every participant
